Mangalsala bunkers

On the banks of Mangalsala, it is possible to see the wreckage of a reinforced concrete ship, which hides many city legends. There are many mysterious underground structures in the forest, where bats live, and where you can get lost in long underground tunnels. We will look for secret entrances to the bunkers and follow in the footsteps of Swedish, Russian, German and Latvian soldiers. Be ready for some horror stories.

We will see – the Daugavgriva fortress, abandoned underwater torpedoes and Soviet ammunition depots, large and small bunkers, an underground tunnel and other historical objects. On the way there will be an organized area with obstacles – attractions.

The meeting point is at the bus stop “Stāvvadu iela” (bus route Nr. 24), there is a large parking nearby (we will return here at the end of the hike).

We advise you to wear clothes in which you will not be afraid to get dirty, and prepare some protection from mosquitoes. Underground buildings tend to have a lot of puddles, so we recommend bringing extra shoes or socks with you. An umbrella or raincoat can also come in handy.

Take a lunch snack and drinks with you, we will have a picnic on the beach or in the forest, – up to the members of the group.
Torches for dark rooms, as well as binoculars, may be useful, – there are many birds around.
